From 21 to 25
November we provided a training for 23 laboratory staff from all over Indonesia
to introduce the concept of quality management.

WHO
Indonesia and the Ministry of Health asked DATOS to provide a short introductory training on
quality management. This training was combined with a Good Laboratory
Practice (GLP) training provided by Professor Patrick Reading of the WHO
Collaborating Center for Reference and Research on Influenza in Melbourne, Australia.

Participants came from 15 provinces in Indonesia and were given an introduction to
the concept of quality, the importance of quality management and how the LQSI
tool
can help to implement a quality management system.

Participants
also were given a demonstration of RT-PCR for influenza and a number of
lectures on GLP. During this training it became clear to the participants that
quality management and good laboratory practice go hand in hand and actually
reinforce each other.
